Kazakhstan Aselsan Engineering LLP was established in 2011 to fulfill the tasks of the defense industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan in terms of electronic and electron-optical products. In December 2013, the factory officially opened with the participation of officials from the country's defense departments.

In 2011, an agreement was signed between NK Kazakhstan Engineering JSC and Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. on the establishment of a joint venture of Kazakhstan Aselsan Engineering LLP in Nur-Sultan to fulfill the tasks of the defense industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan in terms of electronic and electronic-optical products. In December 2013, the factory officially opened with the participation of officials from the country's defense departments.

The plant is located on the territory of the Astana-New City special economic zone with a total area of ​​7.48 hectares.

KAE is a joint venture of NK Kazakhstan Engineering JSC with a 50% interest, the Turkish company Aselsan with a 49% interest and the Turkish Defense Industry Committee with a 1% interest.

$ 44 million was invested in the project, more than 110 jobs were created, the production capacity is 7200 units per year. The company produces the following products:

• Night and day vision devices;
• Thermal imaging sights;
• Intelligence devices;
• Stabilized remotely controlled combat modules;
• Professional radio communications.

Also, the factory has established the process of layout of electronic boards and the production of infrared lenses. A special role is played by the modernization of armored vehicles in terms of electron-optical systems, aircraft in terms of avionics.

For reference: the Turkish company Aselsan Electronic Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. was founded in 1975 by the Turkish Armed Forces Support Fund. Today, the company is one of the largest manufacturers of tactical military communications, guidance systems, public address systems, avionics, optical instruments, automated control systems for the armed forces and other products.
